Message by High Commissioner – Dr Faisal Aziz Ahmed

Kia Ora,

It is my great privilege to represent Pakistan in New Zealand. As High Commissioner, my mission, and that of my team, is to represent Pakistan and Pakistani interests in Aotearoa effectively, while also serving Pakistanis living in New Zealand, and other Pacific Island countries of concurrent accreditation, Samoa, Tonga, and Kiribati, to the best of our ability.

Pakistan and New Zealand are good friends. Our two countries are bound together, not only by a shared passion for cricket and nature, but also by common legacy, mutual respect, mutual goodwill and shared values.

Pakistan and New Zealand have common aspirations for a rules-based world, underpinned by international law. Our two countries have many areas of convergence, and a common stake in the success of the international multilateral system, including the United Nations and the Commonwealth.

As a world leader in innovation, education, sustainability and agri-tech, New Zealand offers myriad opportunities for win-win collaborations. Going forward, it will be my effort to not only deepen the scope and breadth of our political relations, but also enhance our trade, tourism, education and development links.

The Kiwi Pakistani community remains the central fulcrum of Pakistan-New Zealand friendship. Despite limited numbers, they have distinguished themselves by virtue of hard work, integrity and professionalism. Pakistan is proud of your achievements!

To further facilitate the community in consular matters and better introduce Pakistan in this country, we are launching this Independence Day, the new High Commission website, containing additional features, and expanded accessibility options.  This is part of my efforts to further reinvigorate the organic link between the High Commission and the Pakistani community.

Let us together, carry the flag forward, hand in hand.

Dr. Faisal Aziz Ahmed
